Isaiah Austin makes first practice in stacked Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas session

Less than 24 hours after arriving in the Philippines, Isaiah Austin arrived at the Meralco Gym for the first time on Wednesday evening to practice with the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas squad that is set to compete in the 2017 FIBA Asia Champions Cup from September 22-30 in China.

Surprisingly, there were 19 other players that filled up the gym, making it an active session.

PBA superstars Calvin Abueva and Terrence Romeo headlined the star-studded cast, while Globalport’s Jonathan Grey, Alaska’s Carl Cruz, and newest TNT Katropa Norbert Torres participated as well. TNT practice player Alfrancis Tamsi and free agent Jeric Teng were also in attendance.

Kiefer Ravena, Jeron Teng, Raymar Jose, and Jett Manuel took part in their second practice on Wednesday night, with Bright Akhuetie and Achie Inigo. Gab Banal made his first practice as well.

Practice players Robbie Herndon, Jamal Thomas, Joseph Gabayni, Mikee Reyes, and JK Casino completed tonight’s cast.

Bobby Ray Parks, Jr., who has declared that he will sit out the tournament due to bone spurs, sat on the sidelines.
